Have you ever considered the psychological strain that an individual endures as a result of losing a permanent upper front tooth at a young age? Do you realise how difficult it is for an elderly person to eat when he or she does not have enough teeth to chew? Did you know that even one lost upper premolar tooth can pose major problems for a professional vocalist during a performance?

The Department of Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge brings hope for these people. The department deals with patients who have broken endodontically treated teeth that need to be restored, those who have lost one, some, or all of their teeth due to any reason, and those with some acquired or congenital oro-facial deformity that cannot be corrected surgically or those requiring smile designing to improve aesthetics.

Department of Prosthodontics and Crown and Bridge offers a number of treatment options, including complete dentures for completely edentulous (those who have lost all teeth) patients, cast partial dentures, all-acrylic resin dentures and flexible thermoplastic resin dentures for partially edentulous patients, crown and bridge prostheses, management of temporomandibular disorders, laminates and veneers, dental implants, intra-oral and extra-oral maxillo-facial prostheses and full-mouth rehabilitation.

This department has responded to the changing trends in dentistry, from conventional to digital workflow, by installing CAD/CAM and providing patients with stunning metal-free all-ceramic crown and bridge prostheses. This wing has a separate dedicated implant clinic to address the growing need for dental implant-supported prosthesis.

This department boasts of a fantastic work atmosphere, a stimulating learning environment, and great research potential. It believes in incorporating modern technology into teaching and learning, while still emphasising considerable hands-on clinical experience for skill development.
